About the project

The elementary school Jovan Arandjelovic is situated in the village of Crvena Reka, which belongs to the Municipality of Bela Palanka in the Southeast of Serbia. The school operated as a four-grade school until 1955, and since then it has grown into an eight-grade school.  The school also includes outposted classes in the surrounding villages, of which classes are now held in the settlement of Dolac and the villages of Vrandol and Tamnjanica.

The school employs 28 teachers, one pedagogue, an assistant, and 8 other employees. Students from 7 to 14 years old are taught the following subjects: Serbian language, mathematics, biology, geography, history, physics, chemistry, English, French, computer science, technical education, art culture, music culture, physical and health education, religious education and civic education.

They urgently need to refurbish the school library and renew some outdated IT equipment.
