The Jovan Jovanovic Zmaj school, Pancevo, Serbia

About the project

The school Jovan Jovanovic Zmaj is the oldest primary school in Pancevo. It was established in 1890 and since then, education and schooling have been its main purpose.

The school building itself is situated in Pancevo city center, in the vicinity of all important cultural institutions and recreational facilities: the city park, the museum, the Cultural Center Hall, the city library, the Tamis river bank, and the Music school. Being located in the Old Town center’s pedestrian zone, it gives our students a precious opportunity to learn in a natural environment.

The school employs 45 teachers. There are 612 students, from 7 to 14 years old. We have 26 different classrooms specialized for different subjects that we teach: Serbian, English, German, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, History, Geography, Biology, Music, Art, P.E., Technical Education, Civic and Religious Education.

Every year the graduate students achieve above-average results at the final exam and enroll at the secondary school of their primary choice. The social and cultural life of the school is rich and diverse.

They urgently need IT equipment, school furniture, and sports equipment.
